Beakerhead arrives on 17th Ave!
The second annual Beakerhead
is here! This amazing mash up of art and science is a city wide festival with spectacular activities for the whole family! For four days, the City of Calgary will be turned into a giant laboratory. Find yourself immersed in engineered art, international ingenuity competitions, public performances, community challenges, backyard-built contraptions, and creations of your own making.
Did we forget to mention LASERS? The 17th Avenue community will be hosting the unforgettable Laser Cat
in Tomkins Park, located at 17th Avenue and 8th street SW, across the street from our Smith Presentation Centre. This giant 16 foot art installation will be available for viewing from Wednesday September 10- Friday September 12 between the hours of 11:00 am- and 9:00 pm, with an extra special pop- up party on Thursday at 8:00 pm.
In addition to all the cool things to see and do there will be an abundance of daily workshops, talks and events hosted by academics from around the globe. Visit the program guide
for a full list of activities.
