We sipped, swirled, and savored the delicious creations from
Calgary’s culinary geniuses at the Willow Park Wines and Spirits. On
Wednesday March 2nd over 400 foodies were in attendance at the exclusive
Avenue Magazine’s 13th Annual Best Restaurant Awards to
recognize Calgary’s best restaurants.
The evening began with a VIP champagne pre-reception, serving savory canapes from the awarded Avenue’s 10 Best New Restaurants. The main event took place downstairs where the winners of Avenue’s 10 Tried and True Restaurants showcased their most sought after dishes, paired with a selection aromatic fine wines from Willow Park Wines and Spirits. The Chefs of Avenue’s 10 Best New Restaurants took the stage as they received their awards. A big congratulations to the winner of Calgary’s Best New Restaurant, chef Justin Leboe, of 17th Avenue’s Pigeonhole Wine & Snack Bar.
The restaurants of the Beltline hauled in more than their share of awards for top restaurants in various categories. Anju, Bonterra Trattoria, Raw Bar, Model Milk and one of our favorite neighbors Parc Café and Brasserie all received awards. Calgary is truly an epicurean’s delight, and we are proud to say most of the best restaurants are located in our very own back yard!
